Strong Points

Great size to go along with good to very good overall athleticism. Has good play speed. Plays with good strength, is strong at the point, can shed and is a very good tackler. Has a good pass drop and is best in zone versus underneath routes. Has adequate pass rush skills when coming off the edge. Good job with blitzes. Shows good lateral movement and agility, can move through trash and get to the sideline.

Weak Points

He’s more of a reactor than an anticipator; doesn't consistently take good angles to the ball. Wish he was a little faster.

The Way We See It

Fourth-year senior and a two-year starter. Has ideal size and strength to play inside in a 3-4 scheme. His instincts are average, so he is more of a reactor than an anticipator. Still, he is strong at the point, can shed and make plays. Plays downhill. Plays the outside run well because of his quick lateral agility. He is a very good tackler with some occasional “blowup” hits. He is consistent in coverage, better in zone than man. Shows adequate pass rush skills. Can come in and start for a team with a need right away. He won’t be special, but will be a solid ILB. Best fit is in a 3-4.
