Strong Points

A three-year starter at left tackle. Tall and long with good overall athleticism. Has great feet and movement skills. Is a natural bender. Generally keeps good position in pass protection. Can mirror and shows the ability to slide and recover versus moves. Has the frame to easily carry 320+. Good to very good run blocker who can get movement and get out in space. Shows he can pull and adjust on the move. Has great balance. Does a nice job keeping his hands inside.

Weak Points

Doesn’t always play at a consistently high level of intensity. While he is a good technician, he can get lazy with his technique at times. Needs to play a more physical style game. Needs to get stronger in both the upper and lower body.

The Way We See It

Athletically, he may be the best tackle in this draft. Has all the physical traits to be an outstanding pro. Needs to become a more intense, physical player. Some question his mental toughness. His strength is good enough but if he wants to be among the best he needs to get stronger in both the upper and lower body. He almost came out last year and he did himself a favor staying in school. When he is on his game he is outstanding, but he can get a little lazy with his technique. There is some risk to him but all the tools are there.
