Strong Points

Lawson has good size with the frame to get to 285-290. He's very quick and athletic. Has an excellent first step. Lawson is quick to read and react. He's strong at the point with real good hand use to shed blocks. He is equally proficient defending the run and rushing the passer. He's quick and sudden with pass rush. Has counter moves. Very good pursuit player.

Weak Points

I wish he was a little taller and faster. He has only one season as a full-time starter.

The Way We See It

Lawson is a third-year junior entering the draft. He was a starter for just one year but played a significant role playing in a rotation his first two years. He will be one of the better defensive linemen in this draft. Plays both on his feet and in a three-point stance. Lawson flashes dominating ability with his strength, power, instincts and skill set. He is very good player versus the run and as a pass rusher. He's scheme versatile, can play end in a 4-3 or 3-4. Just needs to get a little bigger to play in a 3-4. Lawson has excellent overall athleticism. Will come in and start right away for just about any NFL team. Is young and still has tremendous upside.
