Salary cap space for every NFC club entering offseason

Plus, every NFC squad's biggest need and dream free agent

Last Updated:

The NFL offseason technically started this week, although at PFW, we know there's actually about six weeks of bona fide quiet time between early February and late July — and that doesn't come until the summer.

Nonetheless, with one week until clubs can begin applying franchise tags (Feb. 20), two weeks until the Scouting Combine gets underway (Feb. 27) and less than four weeks until 48 hours of legal tampering precedes the start of the new league year and free agency (Mar. 14 at 4:00 PM ET), we thought now would be a good time to let you know where all 32 clubs stand salary cap-wise.

Going division by division, we'll share each NFC club's current salary cap figure (top 51 players) according to NFL stats, their greatest need and one dream free agent. Keep in mind: most teams have some cap finessing to do between now and free agency kicking off, and a number of high-profile vets whom teams will cut to clear space will join the free-agent pool. For now, we're focusing strictly on current cap room and unrestricted free agents, with the expectation of the cap rising from $167 million in 2017 to around $176 million.

Our cap and offseason need story for every AFC club is also up on the site.
